So...about this book. I read it in one sitting. I read it in three hours. But not because I was so engrossed in the tale. I needed to be DONE.
This book had entirely WAY too much going on. There is a zombie story (which is why I requested the book), a cliche School-For-Supernatural-Kids, a mysterious lineage and a traitor hiding within the school. TOO MUCH. WAY TOO MUCH. And almost all of it was wrapped up in one book which was less than 300 pages.
The characters. The characters are imitations of stereotypes especially miss Molly. She is sooo annoying that it's not funny. She is the T in teenager, right down to the last "whatever." The rest of the characters follow a basic formula of Teen movies. Not books, movies. There is the super cute boy who is so perfect and likes our protagonist. There is the mean bitch, wait no, there are two mean bitches, ONE FOR EACH SCHOOL. The friends that take the new girl in solely because the mean girl hates her, then a mysterious boy who infuriates the main character. I have seen this scene play out way too many times and there was nothing different about Undeadly.
The writing. The only problem I have with the writing is that the book is told from Molly's point of view, so the reader must endure every "duh," "totally," "like," "OMG," "WTF" that crosses Molly's mind. AND THAT IS THE TIP OF THE ICE BERG.
I wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. I'm sure there are some people who will gush and adore it, sadly I'm not one of them. There was nothing original and the characters were unlikeable.
