Authors Winning: Rae Carson and metaphors

The internet is full of authors being dramatic and damaging their good name, I htink it's time we highlight the authors who are just plain awesome!

About a week ago, Rae Carson (author of the Thorn and Fire series) took to twitter to express her distaste for using certain genitalia to refer to a person's character. Now I already loved Rae Carson because I adored The Girl of Fire and Thorn (here is my review if you've been living under a rock and haven't read this fabulous piece of literature), but she outdid herself by bringing up a subject that has bothered me for quite some time now.

THIS POST CONTAINS SOME STRONG LANGUAGE. PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DISCUSSING GENITALIA.

So, next time a guy does something badass, I'm going to compliment him by saying, "Wow, that guy's a real pussy." (end)

I'm sure Rae got a lot of crap for her post, but I, for one, love that she took the time to say what a lot of of were thinking. So I applaud you Rae. Keep being fabulous.
