What was your First Book Review? Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Favorite Bookish moment of the year? It has to be going to BEA this past summer.

What has been  your favorite read this year? Why?

It's hard to pick just one, so I've got a few: Uninvited by Sophie Jordan, because I just really loved the concept; Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman because I loved the look at Hitler before World War II, something we don't often talk about, and it made me really curious about that time, so I was excited when the History Channel did a special that talked about the similar time period; The Swap by Megan Shull because I thought it was so cute, and it was so nice to really have a happy ending that was just perfect without being too cheesy, imho; and Starry Night by Isabel Gillies because I want to defend this book against all the haters. I enjoyed it so much, it seemed so realistic to me, even the bad choices she made are really more true to life than people might think, and I also loved all the NYC references.

If you could go back to when you first started your blog, what would you tell your younger self?
I think I would want to be more organized. I've recently started working on being more consistent with how I name my blog posts, and also I try to keep a calendar, although that is something I'm currently working on perfecting, I also wish I'd done more networking with publishers so that when I did go to BEA I'd have been invited to the parties that happened outside the actual convention hours.

What shows are you watching right now?
I watch so much tv, but I'll try to narrow it down to the main ones at the moment. I'm addicted to The Big Bang Theory, so much that I will often watch re-runs while brand new shows are recording. I record and watch The Young and the Restless every day, but I more watch it as I'm blogging or doing something else. I just started this season watching Wahlburgers, and I'm really loving the family. Other favorite shows include Teen Wolf which just finished up its season. Some upcoming shows I'm looking forward to are: The Walking Dead, The Amazing Race, Survivor, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Bones, and Supernatural. See, I told you, I watch a LOT of tv! :-)
What helps you decide what book you’ll read next?
Well, because I get a lot of e-galleys, I look at what the publishing date is because I know that most publishers prefer you wait until within 30 days of that date to post your actual review, so I work around that. I try to read a physical book, then an e-galley, every other book that way most of the time. I also arrange what I'm reading around Challenges. Like during September I do my Sequels Challenge, so I try to save some of my sequels for that time period.

Do you have any pets? I have two miniature dachshunds. A 3 1/2 year old girl named Dora, her name came from the fact that she was immediately exploring everything in my house when I first brought her home. And an almost 2 year old boy named Argyle. His name came from the breeder and it just kind of stuck. Hopefully some day the breeder is going to breed him, because I want to have grand-puppies.

Favorite movie of 2014 so far?

That's another hard one as I am a big movie lover as well, so I'll give you another list.

Best book adaptation: Divergent, If I Stay, The Fault in Our Stars.
Best comedies: That Awkward Moment, Bad Words, Neighbors, 22 Jump Street, Let's Be Cops
Best biography: Get On Up
Best Science Fiction: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

I'm sure there will be more coming out, for instance The Maze Runner as well as several horror movies coming up.

I think Dora is very properly named! Haha. Thanks for stopping by Lisa and I hope you enjoyed The Maze Runner! :) Can you relate to Lisa's organization problems? Jealous about BEA? Leave her a comment below! And then hop over to Lisa Loves Literature and follow her! :)
