Party Game: Bout this Blogger

In celebration of Cait's blog name and design change from The Notebook Sisters to Paper Fury we're doing a book tag (Pssst, she has a giveaway on her blog as well, check it out). So let's play a game, let's get to know each other some more!

1. Why did you start blogging?
I honestly don't remember. I just remember it was back in Fall of 2011 and I super bored and trying to find my next book to read. I happened to stumble upon GoodReads (which has changed my life when it comes to book recs) and I started to surf the website and found that other members had these things called blogs. Of course I knew what blogs were (I've been to Perez Hilton) but I didn't know that there was an entire book blogging community out there! I frequented GoodReads for a few more weeks and finally found the guts to try my hand at Blogger.
2. What’s the story behind your blog’s name?
I had just graduated from The University of Illinois - Chicago with my degree in French and Francophone studies. I've always been interested in languages, particularly French, and I wanted my blog to reflect my other interests. Du = Of the, Livre = Book. So my blog name, when translated, means Of the Book.

3. How many designs have you been through since you started blogging? (Pictures! We demand pictures!)
Seriously, none! My first year or so I didn't think that I needed a fancy template or design, but now that I've come back to blogging, I find that I want a more "grown up" feel to my blog. I like purple but I want something MORE. Only thing is that I'm super fickle and I have to be 100% sure before I make any commitment. It's the Type A in me.

4. Have you ever switched blog platforms? What made you move? If you haven’t ever changed…why?
My internship uses Wordpress so I've dabbled in that a bit, but once again, I'm afraid of commitment! I can see the pros of going to wordpress, but I don't think I'm ready yet. Maybe one day. Maybe.

5. How long does it take you to write a post? What’s your posting process like?
Normally, about 30-45 minutes. I've been trying to keep my reviews short and keep from getting too ranty or fangirly about a particular review. The hardest part of a review is starting it off, I never know how to start and I usually end up editing the first sentence two or three times. Memes like Teaser Tuesday and Waiting on Wednesday take no time whatsoever. I have also found that Discussion posts are pretty easy to write if I'm actually interested in the process (which....I should be if I'm going to put it on my blog. o.O)

The most time consuming posts are usually my Weekly Wrap Ups and that's mostly because of all the linking. I think this is why I haven't done any monthly wrap ups, it seems so daunting. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do my 2014 Wrap Up post. I'm breaking out into hives just thinking about it.

6. Have you ever been super nervous about a post? Why?! What was it?
I'm usually nervous about reviews for books I didn't love that the rest of the Book Blogging world absolutely adored. I always think that there is something wrong for me for not raving about a book like Blogger A and Blogger B did. I guess that's the beauty of the book community though- everyone has different tastes! Two reviews that I'm a bit nervous about because I didn't love it as much as the rest of the community are:

7. Do you have a blogging schedule?
I do! And I'm super excited that I've actually been following it!
Monday: Discussion Post / Book Promo Post / Fun Blogger Post (like this one) / Book Review (if nothing else)
Tuesday: Teaser Tuesday
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday
Thursday: Book Review
Friday: Book Review
Saturday: Usually nothing
Sunday: Weekly Wrap Up

I usually write all of my posts on Tuesdays and schedule them for the week or month (my review schedule is actually already in January, eep)!

8. Do you tell people In-Real-Life about your blog? Their reactions?

I think only two of my friends know about my blog. o.O My husband knows although he's never been to it. One of my best friends knows mostly because I push books on her the most, so she was curious as to how I found more of these books.

Another friend happened to find out because she was perusing my book shelves and came across and ARC. She had no idea what it was so I explained to her the purpose of a review copy and showed her my blog.

I don't think any of them have visited since them. XD

9. Top ten blogs you read/comment on the most! Go! Go!
Ahh, the pressure is on!

Carmel @ Rabid Reads
Nereyda @ Mostly YA Book Obsessed
Karen @ For What It's Worth
Jess @ Gone with the Words
Jessica @ A GREAT Read
Melanie @ YA Midnight Reads
Kim @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
Jess @ My Reading Dress
Melanie @ The Daily Prophecy
Jen @ YA Romantics

10. If you could change/improve things about your blog, what would they be?
My design for sure. My goal is to actually start looking to different designs and templates and

commit to one! I hope I have this done by March. ....April.

Well I hope you enjoyed my answers, now it's your turn! :)
