BFRaT 2018: TBR and Goals

So I don't know how to tell you guys this, but Thanksgiving is next week. I thought November would be a nice peaceful month but it has been absolutely flying. Do you have your menus set for Thanksgiving? Found the stretchiest pants you possibly can? Good, then after that, join me for the Black Friday Readathon. I've got no plans for Friday so I plan to snuggle up to a few good books and make a dent in my TBR pile.

BFRaT 2018: Sign-Ups

We have barely a week left in October which means that it's time to start looking ahead to November. We've got pies, quality time with family, catching up on TV shows, and of course, joining the third annual Black Friday Read-a-thon (#BFRaT).

[Read-a-thon]Bout of Books 12: Sign Up

Bout of Books

It's that time again guys! Boy I feel like it was just August, 2014 did not linger, that's for sure! This will be my second BoB and I'm excited, but also a little worried because it's possible I'll be working two jobs starting January (eep). BUT I will do my best! :) I met a lot of great people at the last BoB and participated in some really fun challenges. If Bout of Books is new to you, I highly recommend you take part!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 12 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Anyone else participating? I'm excited just thinking about which books I'll be reading! I update with my goals probably on January 4. :)

[Read-a-thon]Black Friday - Finish Line

Well it's Saturday (but I don't think Black Friday has quite ended). I did pretty well for my first day read-a-thon, I actually beat my goal! :)

Read 2 full-length books: 2 books and a novella read!
Visit two blogs of participating bloggers: 1 blog visited

I did pretty good, I'll try to up my goal next year probably by one book. Now to right my research thesis. SIGH.

[Read-a-thon]Black Friday - Start

Blah, I'm starting later than originally planned. My Thanksgiving was me basically running all over Chicago (we had three places to be) and we didn't get home to about 9:30 PM. And by then, the only appropriate thing to do was to fall asleep! BUT NOW I'M READY! I've got my leftovers, my books, and my cats! Let's do the damn thing!

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch [GoodReads]
Stitching Snow by R.C Lewis [GoodReads]
The Collector's Society by Heather Lyons [GoodReads]

  • Read 2 full-length books
  • Visit 3 blogs of bloggers who are also participating in the read-a-thon

Well, I guess I'll see you all at the finish line!

[Read-a-thon]Black Friday 2014

Hi all! I'm excited to say that I am participating in the first ever Black Friday Read-a-thon. This read-a-thon is hosted by Anna @ Don't Blame the Butler. It's a pretty chill read-a-thon for those of us who will either A) be in the long lines from hell or B) don't want to leave the comfort of their home on this business-driven holiday. I fall in the latter category and I don't think I will leave my house at all that day (true story: I went to Jo-Anns Fabric Store about 10 years ago on Black Friday around 9AM...the line was out the door. No thank you).

The rules are simple:

1) "Sign up" by commenting on this post.

2)  Start reading after all of the Thanksgiving festivities and it ends Friday at 23:59

3) Open internationally! Any excuse to read is a great excuse!

4) If you want to read, read. If you have to work, work. If you want to shop, then shop. NO PRESSURE.

5) Bonus Points* for reading books with black covers or with the word “black” in the title. (*Note: Bonus Points are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may in fact be utterly worthless. Consult with your doctor if Bonus Points give you an ego boost lasting more than four hours.)

I'm not too sure what time I'll start seeing as the hubs and I will have three rounds to make on Thanksgiving (having a big family is great...but also not so great on the holidays). I don't know what my goals and what my reading pile is just yet, but I'll probably update Friday morning with all that jazz.

I hope you all can join!

Bisous!
